The Cobb Institute regularly highlights the work and findings of researchers and practitioners who are advancing solutions and strategies for racial and ethnic disparities in health and healthcare.
The Institute host Symposia, and occasionally Roundtables, On-Demand Webcasts, poster sessions and workshops. Going beyond our academic or scientific journals, most of our scientific gatherings also facilitate information exchange with the public as well as university students. Our conference usually opens with a content expert (or Cobb Lecturer), and then brings in multiple additional perspectives from moderated panel discussion brings. Our meetings normally take on a more interactive format, and the discussion is often participant-driven and conversational. These normally quality for 2-4 continuing education credits for physicians, researchers and other health professionals.
Our Symposia are hosted annually by the National Medical Association Convention and Scientific Assembly and the Moffitt Cancer Center, and we also rely on in-kind donation of meeting space by local universities and academic centers.
