The Cobb Institute is dedicated to strengthening the pipeline by creating opportunities for internships, fellowships, and training for professionals committed to the improvement of minority health. Through these experiences, the Cobb Institute has recently established a community of scholars. The W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute Senior Fellows is comprised of those who have distinguished themselves broadly in addressing healthcare disparities mainly through work in research, but also through clinical care, and/or mentoring.
Drawn from academia, hospitals, government, clinical practice and research, the Cobb Senior Fellows will perform various functions including:
support the implementation of the Cobb Institute’s mission, vision and goals including new initiatives in health disparities research and interventions
mentor mid-career level and early career research specialists to address the paucity of African-American researchers, and strengthen the pipeline of funded researchers by federal agencies such as NIH.
